Brigitte Giblin Workshop – Dilly Bag

May 2 @ 11:00 am - 4:00 pm

‘Nantes Dilly Bag’

We are delighted to have Brigitte Giblin visiting at Pincushion for a workshop in May.  Brigitte will be teaching her Nantes Dilly Bag  which provides students with knowledge of exciting colour composition, fussy-cutting for paper piecing and appliqué.

“A vintage inspired drawstring bag perfect for sewing, embroidery or knitting projects.  Side gussets are added for extra roominess and old linens can be used for a vintage look.  Traditional English Paper Piecing on the front of the bag.”

Include in the workshop price is the bag pattern, a special fabric kit from Brigitte’s stash and a few little treats from Pincushion. Tea, coffee and cake will be provided but we do ask that you bring your own packed lunch along with a basic sewing kit. Brigitte has very kindly offered to bring along her quilts to help inspire and guide students through the wonderful process of fussy-cutting and its unlimited potential of pattern.

Students will all receive a 10% discount on the day of their workshop, and the shop opens at 10am so you are very welcome to arrive early and select fabrics with the guidance of Brigitte.

A little more about Brigitte:

“French born Brigitte Giblin has been making quilts since the early 1980’s and teaching patchwork and quilting for over 30 years. Her love of fabric has developed from traditional and reproduction origins to more whimsical styles while keeping with traditional patchwork methods. A love of English Paper Piecing combined with appliqué, hand-piecing and Broderie Perse are used throughout her work to create traditional designs with a modern twist. Her fabric choices tend towards light and bright colour giving vintage quilts a fresh approach.

Brigitte has taught extensively in Australia, New Zealand, the US and Europe. Her patterns have been published internationally in books and magazines and she has published 3 books with French publisher Quiltmania: “Feathering the Nest with Vintage Inspired Quilts” books 1, 2 & 3.”
