Are you sew enthusiast looking to learn a new skill? Come and have fun while learning ‘Introduction to Corsetry’. This two day workshop will teach you the basic skills needed to create your very own underbust corset. Learn fundamental skills such as efficient pattern marking, fit, boning types, bias binding, grommet setting, and so much more! For this class, set up kits of materials will be provided. Sizes in 8, 12, 14, 16, and 18 are available. Due to this being an intro class, fashion fabrics will also be set up to choose from. However, you are welcome to bring your own fashion fabrics to be approved, provided they are a sturdy woven with no amount of stretch. When you register for class please notify me your waist and hip measuments and I will take care of the rest. You will walk away with new skills and a corset to wear under or over clothes. About the Instructor: After graduating with a Bachelor Fine Arts from the Art Institute of Chicago, Richard immersed himself in the Chicago costume and fashion industry. His job with the Borris Powell brand and as Lead Stitcher for Halsey On Stage costume company further developed his passion and love for design. Working on notable shows such as Madonna’s Rebel Heart Tour, George Balanchine ballet works, Phantom of the Opera Love Never Dies, and Little Dancer for the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C.
He now lives in England and works professionally in the costume industry as well as with his own brand RCIII.
